Why the line is drawn there

Residential is one address and one household. Commercial is more than one address, or more than one person. That is a description of what the two things are rather than a limit anybody invented.

Multi-site, roles, an audit trail, export, and letting a contractor in without handing over everything — a business cannot operate without those, and a home never needs them.

About the caps on a free home

A home is capped per kind of thing rather than in total: six electrical panels, ten shutoffs, eight HVAC units, four water heaters, thirty appliances. Each is set at roughly twice what the largest normal house has.

Components do not count. A forty-circuit panel is one panel. A mower with six batteries is one mower.

If you have an unusual house and you hit one of these, tell us and we will raise it. Blocking a real house is a worse mistake than letting a small business use a free account for a while.
